Clients often ask me to recommend top quality products, other than food, to help them ‘clean up’ their lifestyle.

They want to:

• Reduce the symptoms of allergic responses to the chemicals touching and being absorbed by their skin.
• Reduce the impact on the environment of the toxic by-products of the manufacture, use and disposal of these chemicals.
• Prevent the build-up in their bodies of toxic substances which could ultimately lead to cancer.

This may sound as though I’m anticipating problems.  Well, I am!  Very few people are aware that the toiletries and cosmetics industries have virtually NO legal restrictions as to which ingredients they can use.  The result of silent accumulation of known toxins in our bodies could be catastrophic to our health!

In areas such as household cleaners I can only suggest products which are less likely to cause reactions than others. There are no products to my knowledge which fulfil all the above criteria, apart from good old-fashioned bicarbonate-of-soda, lemon juice and vinegar!

In the area of personal toiletries and cosmetics there are several companies manufacturing quite reasonable products.  Two companies I can recommend are Miessence from Australia and Essential Care from England, both of which have Organic certification.
